Friends of the Florence Nightingale Museum

The Friends of Florence Nightingale Museum are a vibrant community of international nursing heritage supporters. Based in the US, the Friends share the Museum’s mission to celebrate Florence NIghtingale’s life and work, and promote the preservation of the history of the nursing profession.
The Florence Nightingale Museum, located in London, England, is a UK charitable trust, and relies entirely on contributions and museum receipts. You can contribute to the preservation and development of the Museum’s collections and facilities by becoming a Member of the Florence Nightingale Museum.

AONL conference in Boston, Massachusetts.
Attended performance of Nurse Blake’s “Shock Advised!” tour. Blake combines his
“passion for nursing and comedy to create a positive disruption in the nursing space.”

Zeta Phi Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.
Featured speaker was renowned Nightingale scholar and author,
Lynn McDonald.
New permanent exhibit
British Military Nursing in Peace and War
opens. The Friends contributed a
video interview with Col Dan Kirkpatrick - US Air Force Nurse
to the archive for international military nursing.
Led by Dr. Donna Curry, a group of American nurses visited Nightingale-related locations around England. Their tour included the
Nightingale's grave,
the Liverpool Royal Infirmary,
and 2 nights at her childhood home, Lea Hurst.

American Association of the History of Nursing
Conference, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Successful GoFundMe campaign to pay for shipment of Nightingale’s wheelchair from the Alan Mason Chesney Medical Archives at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD to the Florence Nightingale Museum in London.
The wheelchair is documented as Nightingale's Wheelchair.
Organized & sponsored Nurses Day picnic, “Nurses Lunch Break,” in Dayton, Ohio. Friends of Florence Nightingale Museum CEO, Dr. Donna Miles Curry, appeared in Nightingale dress to deliver the keynote address.
